  • Tiger Attacks on Humans

Tiger attacks on humans are not actually as scarce as you might think, and they still do happen in various parts of the world.

A Tiger Attacks a ManOver the years there have been several tigers and species of tiger that have been known for their attacks on humans and some of these are quite amazing to think about due to the numbers of people killed. These attacks include:

Champawat Tiger – this tigress was thought to habve killed 200 people in Nepal before it was driven away. When she was moved to India she continued to kill and her total went up to 436. It was 1911 before she was finally found and killed herself.

Tiger of Chowgarh – these were two Bengal tigers that killed around 64 people in five years. Their kills were in eastern Kumaon and they killed over an area of 1,500 sq miles. There were also many people who survived these attacks.

The Thak Man-Eater – this tiger is legendary even though she only killed 4 poeple. She was thought of as an amazing hunter and she was the last hunt of the author and conservationist Jim Corbett. The story of him hunting her was dramatic as it happened as the night was falling. After she had been killed it was noted that she had two old gun shot wounds.

Tiget of Mundachipallam – this was a Bengal tiget that was thought to have killed 7 people in Pennagram. The first 3 people it killed were in attacks that were unproved. The next 4 people that it attacked were eaten after they had been killed. It was eventually killed by Kenneth Anderson.

These are just a few of the stories of tiger attacks on humans and as you can see one single tiger is capable of killing many people. These tigers would have been fierce hunters and able to kill an adult human quickly.
