- Less than 3,000 Asian rhinos and 18,000 African rhinos remain
- In 1900 there were several hundred thousand back rhinos alive
- There are 4 subspecies of Black Rhino: South-Central, South-Western, East African and West African
- Adult rhinos can weight up to 3,000 lb, although some have been reported at over 6,000 lb
- The longest recorded horn length was 4.9 feet
- Black rhinos feed off trees and shrubs
- Black rhinos are very aggressive animals
- Incredibly 50% of males & 30% of female rhinos actually die from fighting-related injuries, the highest figures for any animal
